Obama's Race Card: a Little Worn Down Around the Edges
I guess Obama has a reason to be whipping out the deck at this point; he hears footsteps approaching, and this time they're stilettos. In any event, Obama has managed to opt for the "funny name" defense yet again:
"I know that I’m not your typical presidential candidate," Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told executives and employees of the Schott glass company Friday afternoon, "and I just want to be honest with you. I know that.""And I know that the temptation is to say, 'You know what? …The guy hasn’t been there that long in Washington.,' You know, 'he’s got funny name,' You know, 'we’re not sure about him,'" Obama continued. "And that’s what the Republicans, when they say, 'This isn’t about issues, it’s about personalities,' what they’re really saying is, 'We’re going to try to scare people about Barack. So we’re going to say that you know, maybe he’s got Muslim connections or we’re going to say that, you know, he hangs out with radicals or he’s not patriotic.'
Please. Maybe if Obama specified right-wing bloggers instead of just "Republicans" he'd have a leg to stand on. As often as McCain sticks his foot in his mouth, his campaign has never so much as implied that Barack has "Muslim connections," he's never made any remarks about his "funny name," and he certainly hasn't dared to use Barack's full name, lest he utter the dreaded "Hussein." And all this is of course coming from the man who is basing virtually his entire political offense on the notion that "John McCain = George W. Bush."
Oh and sorry Obama, but even if you don't "hang out with radicals," you are a radical. Your voting record puts you as the number one most liberal voter in the U.S. Senate.
To give you some perspective, Bernie Sanders, an openly self-declared Socialist, is still only the 4th most liberal voter in the Senate, putting him further to the right than the Democratic nominee for president. That's right, Obama is further left than a Socialist. Not to mention the fact that vice presedential candidate Joe Biden comes in at number 3, just ahead of Sanders.
Liberals love to talk about the "far right," but they're about to vote for the farthest left America has to offer.

Not only is misrepresentation of the budget a problem, people need to understand base line economics. Government programs have built in increases. A program set to increase every year at 10% based on "projected needs" may only go up 2%. When a republican says lets only increase that budget by 5% they are accused of cutting the budget 5%, even though it is a 3% increase, top
